Artisanal Series, Collection piece

Presented in Maison Martin Margiela's Autumn-Winter 2001 collection, this Artisanal runway piece reconstructs two traditional Japanese kimonos into a single overdyed gown. The differing qualities of the original textiles create subtle variations in tone and texture, giving the garment its distinctive character.
