The Spring-Summer 2000 collection marked a significant turning point for Maison Martin Margiela. Presented in the Spring-Summer 2000 collection, this Artisanal slip dress was meticulously reconstructed by hand from multiple vintage negligees and a bandeau top. Characterized by its fluid drape and soft, sculptural volume, this unique piece reflects the artisanal process at the heart of the collection. By transforming intimate garments and delicate lace into a new sartorial context, Margiela redefined the meaning and value of existing clothing, embodying the Artisanal line's philosophy of reinvention through reconstruction.
