Jasper Johns began using numbers as subjects from the very start of his printmaking practice at the studio of Tatiana Grossman, wife of painter Maurice Grossman. Three works from a series of prints comprising the ten digits from zero to nine, held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and museums worldwide.
