Regarding the Lands End series, Jones has said: "The title came because I arrived at despair… because I had the feeling that I had reached a place where I had no place to be anywhere… where nothing was certain and everything was confused by thought."
The work depicts a dead end in his exploration, blending seamlessly the themes he had previously employed: elongated arms, semicircles, and letters.
