This Banksy (1974 - ) work was exhibited and sold at his temporary London gallery, Santa's Ghetto in 2006. The image depicts an army of young men and children standing atop a burnt-out car, raising the Star-Spangled Banner in victory. The scene is reminiscent of one of the most famous news photographs from WWII, “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima.” The series is rare due to its release in two different editions; silver (2006) and gold (2007).
