DESCRIPTION

This is one of a series of “Poems” that Carl Andre (1935 - ), an artist known for his minimalist sculptures, has been creating since the late 1950s. Using black or red Xerox prints, strings of letters of the alphabet are printed at regular or irregular intervals; constructing words in a figurative way, and creating a visual sense of rhythm. More than 1,500 poems from the series have been produced so far, with the largest exhibition of these poems taking place in Switzerland in 2014.
